Beyond 'Religion versus Emancipation’

Final Conference: Religious Transformation and Gender

Religious Transformation and Gender
Contestations in/and the study of religion, gender and sexuality

As our five-year research project draws to a close, we are happy to welcome you to our fully online, virtual conference, taking place March 10-12 2021.

The three-day conference will be organized in association with the International Association for the Study of Religion and Gender (IARG) and partially funded by the Dutch Research Council (NWO), who has funded our research project “Beyond ‘Religion vs Emancipation’: Gender and Sexuality in Women’s Conversions to Judaism, Christianity, and Islam in Contemporary Western Europe” for the past five years. Read more about the project here.

The conference invites contributions that focus on the theme of Religious Transformation and Gender in a broad sense, click here to find the full Call for Papers and Conference description.

We have invited several keynote speakers, who will present their research during the conference.
