Lieke Schrijvers visiting scholar in Ghent

Lieke Schrijvers is visiting the University of Ghent from September to December 2018, where she is enrolled as a doctoral student at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences. She works together with researchers from the Centre for Research on Culture and Gender, a study group which aims to bring together scholars from various backgrounds to discuss issues such as gender, culture, sexuality, class, nation, religion, and ethnicity. Lieke will work closely with the director of the centre, prof. dr. Chia Longman, who is one of her PhD supervisors. Longman is an expert in cultural anthropology, gender and Judaism. The upcoming months, Lieke will write about these topics for her dissertation and various other publications.

The project group will reconvene in Ghent in November, where they will present at the IARG (International Association for the study of Religion and Gender) conference.
