Book presentation: Taking Offense
June 27, 2018
Principal Investigator Anne-Marie Korte today presented her co-edited new book, called ‘Taking Offense: Religion, Art, and Visual Culture in Plural Configurations’. She gave a short lecture on the stage of University of Amsterdam stage SPUI25 on Blasphemous Feminist Art, a topic on which she has written a lot, including a chapter in this new book. The recently published book is based off of a symposium on art and offense in Kiel a few years back. Along with co-editors Christiane Kruse, Birgit Meyer, and countless other contributors, Anne-Marie tries to understand how and why artistic expressions are able to offend certain people and how does the taking of offense take place.
